ABOUT THE ARTWORK
“Discovery” was created after a journey in which the artist sought to explore the boundary between light and darkness – both in nature and in the human mind. The painting is inspired by the moment just before a storm breaks across the sky, when a sudden glimpse of light reminds us that even within chaos there is room to see something new.
The deep, almost volcanic reds symbolize our earthly connection, the familiar and the safe – while the rising light at the top represents the unknown that pulls us forward. The transition between them, where darkness meets light in an almost explosive haze, is the very moment of discovery – not only about finding something new, but about seeing the old with new eyes.
The artist describes the process as painting an inner expedition: “I wanted to capture the feeling of standing at the edge of something infinite – a place where fear and curiosity meet. "Discovery" is about daring to step where the light has not yet fully reached.”
